Show Updates — AC has added some new shows this week, including a new date for Van Halen, May 9 at Boardwalk Hall; tickets purchased for the 3/28 date are still good. Also at Boardwalk Hall, Mary J. Blige performs with Jay-Z on May 3 with tickets on sale this Sat. March 22 at 10am. Raven-Symoné makes a Pajama Party stopover at the Taj Mahal May 10 with special guests Mitchel Musso, B5 and Clique Girlz . At Borgata, Chicago returns with the Doobie Brothers on June 28, on sale this Saturday.
Foodie Alert — In June, Michael Schulson, celebrity chef and star of Style Network’s hit show Pantry Raid, will open Izakaya, a modern Japanese pub, at the Borgata.
Izakaya will feature Chef Schulson’s interpretation of Japanese pub fare in a luxurious, lounge-like space created by Alvarez-Brock design. Signature dishes will include Lobster Ramen Broth with lemongrass, bok choy and tobiko; Kobe Beef Tartar with tapioca, mint, and sesame flatbread; and Cold-Smoked Hamachi Belly with jalapeno, ginger, and mountain potato. In addition to the extensive menu options, Izakaya will offer a comprehensive Japanese beverage program, including 20 sakes by the glass.
Topping Off Taj Tower — Trump Entertainment Resorts will hold a traditional Topping Off Ceremony to mark the final construction phase of The Tower at Trump Taj Mahal on Monday, March 31, beginning at 11:30pm on the outdoor promenade. N.J. Governor Jon S. Corzine, Donald Trump, Vice President, Ivanka Trump, Trump Entertainment CEO, Mark Juliano, Trump Taj Mahal General Manager Rosalind Krause, along with state, county and local government officials, dignitaries and representatives of the business sector will sign the final beam before it is lifted to the tower’s highest elevation.
